Computer question about notepad!!!!?

I have a gateway. Dont know what year (grandparents computer). I'm doing a web class. when I click on the syllabus link it goes to notepad but the problem is it's all in different words and numbers like a language for a computer to understand what do I do?

Try Right Click>>Open With>>Wordpad ...instead of notepad

Right click on the link and select "Save Link As" or "Save Target As".  Then open the file up in MS Word.

I'm assuming that this is a MS Word document.  It should end in .doc.

your computer doesn't have the software it needs to view that type of file.  Its defaulting to notepad which apparently isn't able to view it.  We need to know they type of file to tell you want software you need to download.

right click on the link, select copy link location, and paste that into addition details for your question.
