Computer reacts slowly if left alone why?

I type address down in address bar(such as hotmail) and walk away as it takes some time to connect. When I come back, it is on the first page and I hit the sign in button but it does not react after the first 10 clicks it still has not done anything so I can sign in with password.

It is like it fell asleep or is ignoring me. Yet it reacts much better if I were on top of it all the way. Whats up with that? I am on hi speed not shared.

  1. Probably spyware.

Are you experiencing slowness anywhere else?

Try using a different browser like Firefox or Safari and see if the issue is particular to Internet Explorer

Download and install Spyware Search n Destroy and have it scan your system.

I assume you have anti-virus and firewall protection.. right?

Try turning off "indexing" in Window XP or defragging the hard drive.

  2. I had that problem so I switched to Firefox 3. You can also try other browsers.
