Computer running real slow and then shuts down

Question

My computer will run real real slow when plugged in, the battery will not charger completely. When computer is on I can here a slow "clicking" when the processor is running (I am assuming it is the processor". I have tried restoring to a earlier date in case of a virus but it is not letting me do that either. Real slow at boot up and shut down, I can hear fan running.
