Computer security screen display password?

own a dell optiplex on the screen for the computer the code i have written down i tried to enter the password but the keys arent identify on the computer it just say enter password and hault number of entries and shuts down is their anything i can do

you are gona have to take the internal battery out of the computer and leave it out for at least 30secs to a whole day. this will reset the motherboard passwords and configs.
