Computer speakers not working?

I formatted my computer today and reinstalled the whole new windows xp home edition and my speaker aren't working. they are normally plugged in but when i check my sounds and audio devices it says no audio so if you know how to fix this it will be helpful thanks

  1. You need the driver for the speakers. This driver is usually part of the motherboard driver set unless you have a sound card, and that's not likely. Just find out what motherboard you have, and google it with drivers. If its a nvidia Nforce card, go to their website, find drivers, give them your models and download the drivers.  


  2. Just go in hardware profile and re-install your drivers. Once installed, go to the control panel and click on audio device and choose the correct driver as input and output source.

    Another way is to go in the System hardware and click on update the device. If you are connected to the net, it will search and update XP with the lastest driver.

    But first, put in your original motherboard CD and install from that CD and not Win XP. This is important
