My computer was attacked recently and I had a friend who sold me it fix it. (I had a norton anti-virus and everything was fine. it had expired so I uninstalled it so I could install a new one. this is when my computer was attacked. idk how.) It had viruses, spyware and stuff. he fixed it and its working but it seems still like theres something wrong. Like theres still popups when im using the internet and when i scanned it with the free avg download it found a spyware and trojan downloader. Why is this still happening. Do I need to buy a anti virus or spyware??? Any suggestions.

  1. When dealing with an infection you need to make sure that not only do you delete it but you make sure it cant come back.

To completly Get rid of the infection, I recommend you reinstall windows.  This will make sure that it is gone and it cannot continue to lurk around in your pc and reactivate later.

However, there are some things you can go to attempt to delete it.  On this website you can find several tools to remove different types of infections.  http://www.symantec.com/norton/security_...

When the Infection is gone, Make sure you protect your computer very well with a very good antivirus or security suite. Also, educate yourself on online safety.  Most virus infections are a result of our own actions.
