  1. Depends on the kinds of outputs your computer has and the kinds of inputs your receiver has.  If you can connect it via S/PDIF (Digital Coaxial or Digital Optical) then you're set with true surround sound capabilities.  If your PC isn't equipped with S/PDIF, you can find a stereo 1/8" phone to RCA cable and use that.  Plug the 1/8" phone (like headphones) end into your PC and the RCA (red & white) end into your receiver.  You won't get true surround but most receivers will mix stereo into 5.1...that is if you even have a 5.1 system.

  2. i use an fm transmitter plugged into the headphone socket and then tune in the radio on my home theatre to pick up the sound.there quite cheap aswell and saves messy wires it will send the sound to any radio in the house aswell even the bathroom

  3. yeah i agree with the first answer a 1/8th jack in the headphones jack to an RCA plugs (red and white) in the back of the system's reciever (or front if it has one in front)

  4. I found a USB digital audio device on Amazon and got a basic optical connection.  It transfers sound via SPDIF and give a superb playback of DTS suondtracks.
