Computer to tv hook ups?

I want to hook up either my laptop or my desktop to my TV so that i can watch stuff off my computer on my tv. I'm notvery good with knowing what wires i need or how to even go about this, so could anyone tell me what i need to do?

If your computer has an S-Video output, and your TV has an S-Video input, then you can connect your computer to your TV, using an S-Video cable. On your laptop, press either FN+F5 or FN+F8 to get the display on your TV, or FN+F1, FN+F2, etc. On your desktop, you will need to go into the Display settings, and activate the TV monitor. But remember to go from the output in your computer, to the Input in your TV.

if your laptop has a svideo output and your tv has a svideo input you can get your video thru this after you hook them up go into the control panel of the computer select display then settings adjust settings for your tv. if you want sound with it you need an adapter for the sound out on the computer that has a red and white rca end then plug this to sound on the tv below the svideo and change the tv to the input with the svideo.        http://www.thecablecabledoc.com

You will need a cable from the pc to the tv

the type of cable depends on the slots the tv has

Normally it is the same cable as most monitors, ask your local electronics store they should help

if not, please post a picture or detailed info on the slots in your tv
