1. a wireless router is a box that transmitts wireless signals. i think you mean you have wireless card in the two computers, and a wireless router.

If that is the case, then yes you should be fine.

  2. you don't have routers in computers...unless theyre big servers. you have a wireless NIC! if you also have a wireless capable router then you have all you need. plug your modem into the wan port of the router, then you'll connect both computers to the router...that's it! you literature for your router will tell you how to connect everything for your particular router. google it if you lost the info

  3. You have all you need.. Here is the correct hook up

Cable Modem ----> WAN/Internet port on Router ----> LAN ports on router to all computers (wireless ones will use wireless)

You will have to wire to the router ONCE to set up the settings.

(You really don't have wireless routers in both computers :) you have wireless adapters which will connect to a wireless router!

Just plug the cables up - and setup the "external" router.. then setup the wireless on the computers. Not hard at all..

If you tell us the BRAND of the external router we can point you to the website which tells you how to set up the router! Once that is done you can use as many computers at one time as you would like!

  4. You need a special Hub..

you can have the wireless Nic card installed, but you need a switch, or hub, that connects to one computer, so you an receive the signal, (i also use Time Warner, road runner)

if you have trouble, call up time warner, they can assist

    best of luck,

    raffi
