Computer trouble the mouse pointer seems not to work?

I restarted my computer today because the pointer was not moving and after it finished starting up I could move mouse pointer and then after 10 seconds the pointer freezes but the computer seems not to be frozen so I restart it again and it does the same thing but this time the pointer disappears does anyone know what wrong?

You may want to try to clean it. They do collect dust specks

On the bottom there is one s***w, unscrew and open mouse

Inside you will see two small plastic black rods with small gears at the ends.

Thoroughly clean these rods, a small speck of dirt will mess up your mouse.
