Computer virus problems?

Question

I got a virus from a download (stupid of me ill be more careful in the future for sure). anyways, the symptoms of the virus are strange, random popups when im on the internet and also it wont let me go to certain sites, like myspace, facebook, tribalwars, and then google search doesnt work, but google video and images does... help???!!!

You have to back up your important files and reformat your p.c.

I've experienced that before and it will just make your internet connection slower..

Are you sure this is a virus and not spyware?  If you have a anti-virus program, let that scan till its 100% done.  If that doesn't work, check out this, hope this helps you

This is 100% spyware infection and you might have downloaded some rogue (fake) Antispyware or Antivirus programs. If you click on those pop-ups that you get, it will download the trojan. I think it is not a virus. It is some type of adware.

Download SpyBot from:

And please do a "thorough" scan as soon as you get it downloaded. The user interface is simple. Click the left side, and in the top menu that comes up, select thorough scan.

When it finds a culprit it throws up an alarm, then you DELETE the culprit, (do not quarantine).

Then allow it to run all of the time, and you will be completely protected. It will "automatically" update itself, also for free.

You only need to renew your registration once a year, also free.

Note: I KNOW of several people who have used AVG and Norton and have gotten a virus anyway.

Don't go with Zone Alarm as it is hoggy and conflicting.

I've tried them all, and have had wonderful results with DEPENDABLE AVAST for the last 5 years.

The corporation I work for uses the Pro version, and has never has an incident. Avast is your answer.
