Computer volume help?

I have a del laptop inspiron E1505 and I have its volume up all the way but its like a whisper. It doesn't go up farther then what it is. I haven't messed with any of the volume control. What could it be wrong? I've restarted my computer and that didn't work I've turned it off for a long time and that didn't work either. HELP?

There are two volume controls on laptops, usually -- a physical one that you adjust with your finger and an electronic one that you adjust with the mouse.  The mouse one usually is usually near your clock (bottom right) and looks like a speaker -- double click on it and adjust Wave and Master Volume.  The location (or existence) of the other control varies depending on your laptop.
