I restart my computer and press F8, then the Windows Advanced Options Menu comes up, I choose Safe Mode, then it asks me to select the operating system to start. It gives me Windows XP Media Center Edition and Microsoft Windows Recovery Console. I click on the first one then a bunch of numbers and letters pop up then I can't do anything and have to turn computer off. When I click the second one it still doesn't let me start the computer up in Safe Mode. What do I do? are there any alternative ways to get into Safe Mode?

  1. If you can tell me what the numbers are I can help you.  You might want to check out either of these two links though:

    1) Unmountable Boot Volume:

-Even though this might not be your error, this might fix your problem.  Or identify it at the very least.  Try this one out first:

    2) Analyzing BSOD (Blue Screen)

-It's worth a try to figure out what is causing the problem:
