Question:

Computer won't load windows?

The computer froze when it loaded windows and was turned off from the power button. Now the computer boots with an option to go into multiple safe modes or to previous known good configuration. All the options lead to the computer rebooting when the 'loading windows xp' screen comes up. I looks at the hardware and it was all connected properly. Any suggestions. I assume its a software problem.

  1. ur computer wil be affected from virus

scan whole system with latest version of Avira antivirus

  2. probably something corrupt with your operating system...

i suggest your put your cd in the drive (operating sys installation disk).

boot in safe mode...go to repair console (with cd in drive) and try to do a repair...

(it will recover files that it needs off of your cd to repair installation)

if you can't do it or don't know how....call your pc maker on the phone and let them do a remote access hookup and they will go in for you and repair it..

i had to do it a while ago...and dell did it for free...as long as you have your tag number on the back of the mainframe (tower).

    good luck

  3. Without any error messages, its hard to say what the problem is. Turning it off without shutting down properly may have corrupted some system files.

If you have an XP installation disc, insert it and make your system boot from CD. It will give you the option to replair or reinstall you XP installation. Try a repair first.

  4. This happened to me once I installed a lexmark printer and windows just wouldn't load even after going through safe mode even when I disconnected the printer it still kept doing it, when I went into the bios and changed the settings for the printer in other words disabled it and rebooted windows loaded again with no problem, maybe you have attached a new piece of hardware or you need to check out your bios, I'm only going on what happened to me and it maybe different to your problem but I thought it may help.
