Computer wont read/hour glass frozen on player

Question

Computer wont read/hour glass frozen on playerwe just bought it off ebay and plugged it into the computer and computer doesnt read it and as soon as i turned on the player there is a blue screen with a hour glass on it and doesnt do anything. we tried using the disk but still nothing... any idea what can be done to fix this??
