Computer wont recognize mp3 player. my computer wont recognize my dell mp3 player, it plays music

my computer wont recognize my dell mp3 player, it plays music but when i plug it in to the computer it doesnt show up in my computer or on the portable device manager of my jukebox program. my thumb drives do, however, work. ive tried updating drivers and what not with no luck. plz help!
