Computer wont recognize my USB cable for my camera!?

Question

i got a camera but it didn't come with a cord to connect it to the computer. so i got a new cord. i plugged it into my camera & computer but my computer doesn't do anything!

it works for my ipod

You should either contact the camera manufacturer and find out the problem or take your computer to a place like geek squad and they will be able to help you out or give you some advice. Its hard to tell what the problem is from your brief description.
