I can't get my computer to boot up. It keeps freezing and rebooting before I can get into my profile, sometimes I can't get that far. I was able to finally get into it via Safe Mode and then pulled all my really important docs off. All my email is still on there and I'd like to get it back. I checked to see if it needed to be defragged but it didn't and I ran check disk for 2 hours but no problems.

So, based upon that little bit of info, any clues as to what it could be? The computer was purchased on 12/30/04 so it’s 3 ½ years old. Micro Center special: PowerSpec 8344, 256MB RAM (I think I doubled this but can’t remember), 2.8GHz, 80GB HD (less than 1/2 full), running XP professional edition sp2.

Any wisdom you can share would be most appreciated. Thank you.

David
