  1. mmm....okay....

    you could ask them:

If I want to upgrade to a new motherboard and I want to use an Intel Quad processor with 4 GB of RAM how much mhz (mega hertz)  of front bus would I need to look for in the motherboard to push that processor so that I could edit my high fashion photos's at an optimal speed??

That will have em scratching their heads and looking around for that geek with the coke bottle glasses....

  2. Here are some:

Do you know where I could find Geforce 9300 GS with 1GB Storage and is factory overclocked with dual-slots?

I'm gonna need a 6Gb Memory 1Tb Hardrive with a blu-ray player and lightscribe and a touchsmart monitor that is 22''

    and a desktop by hp

  3. Is this a computer?

That one should stump even the manager, those clowns know nothing.

I like going into a PC World and saying, I need 6 pulse-niad converters, and a D.R.P.X. modem interface....or am I just bluffing?

Of course, there's nosuch thing, but you'll have them stumped, now, I either buy a Dell system and really upgrade it or build my own.

In one case, I brought my custom decked system in, which cost me nearly £7,000 to build, took the side plate off and showed them the insides, the person said; "so what do you need done with it", I responded, "nothing, I just wanted to show you nimrods what a real computer looks like", and this thing weighs over 40kgs total!!!!

I got a hernia, but it was worth it.

  4. Well if you know nothing about comptuers, its going to be pretty hard to sound like you do.

Just ask about how many serial drives you can hook up, how much ram is in it, and if its expandable (if the motherboard has more RAM slots. If the power supply could handle a better video card and 2 or 3rd harddrive.........i duno

  5. What is a graphics card?

  6. Hi you could try searching any computer forum or help-site,or if you know what type of computer or software/hardware that  you want. try the manufacturers site and click on 'specifications' and this will give you an idea of what questions you could ask. Although the average shop assistant might not know the answers and send you to the tech department. I hope this helps all the best Rab.

  7. Is this for some costing project for college or something

  8. heres one that absolutely no one knew anything about when I was asking around, and I phoned the manufacturers themselves, and they didnt know - how scary is that.....

LCD monitors use different technology to display the image. the most common is TN- twisted Nematic- this gives the fastest response time, but the color reproduction isnt the best, so for graphic design work you need to get a monitor that uses S-IPS or super inplane switching... ask if the monitor uses TN or S-IPS technlogy.

    another question .......

if you look at the response time for an LCD monitor, it is determined by the amount of time it takes for a pixel to go from an off state to an on state, and back to an off state- also known as black to white response time.- or how quickly it can change between black and white images. Another measurement they take is the amount of time it takes for a pixel to simply change color. (known as going from a grey to grey state). but what often happens is that the manufacturers give you the quickest of the two. so when you see a monitor that has a response time of 2 ms for instance, that may be black to white, or may be grey to grey- they usually dont specify. ask them if the time indicated is black to white or grey to grey response time. if they do guess the answer, ask them what the other response time is

  9. One of my favorites that we actually deal with quite a bit at our IR department

Question: I have a CDRW/DVD PlayerDoes and it not show up

in "MyComputer" and won't run. When i plug it back in it shows "Windows Successfully loaded the device

drivers but can't find the device" Why is this doing it? I installed the drivers and even deleted and reinstalled

Answer: The driver filters are corrupt and need to be reinstalled. They are linked to the cd driver so whenever you install the driver it see's that the filters are there and skips over it(because it's a registry value and deleted the driver won't remove this) so go to Start>Run>Regedit find this path

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet \Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-...

And delete both the Upper and Lower filters then plug back in the cd drive it will install and your set

Took me awhile to figure that one out see if they can do it quicker ;)

*edit* although the spaces infront and behind CurrentControlSet shouldn't be there if i post it with them it blocks off the rest of the info =/
