The Chicago Blackhawks hosted the Dallas Stars in another game on Wednesday. This was the 409th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series which saw around 21,000 fans witnessing the match. This was the 27th game of the season for
the Dallas Stars while the Chicago Blackhawks were playing their 30th game of the season.
The defending champions and the home team for the night, Chicago Blackhawks started strongly. They attacked after a few minutes and were immediately rewarded for the determination they showed. The home team took the lead scoring in the 4th minute.
The goal was scored by Bryan Bickell from a quick fired yet powerful strike that put the home team in the lead.
The Hawks continued to press forward despite leading. They worked hard and constantly got past the opposing defence. However, it was not until the 14th minute that they scored once again to double the lead. The goal was scored by Jonathan Toews
from a decent flick shot.
The period saw both teams coming across a few more chances but they failed to score and the period ended with the Chicago Blackhawks leading 2-0. During the course of the period, the Chicago Blackhawks made 10 goal attempts while the Dallas Stars made 7
goal attempts.
The 2nd period was very entertaining as 5 goals were scored during the 20 minutes of play. The Chicago Blackhawks kept on piling pressure on the away side and scored once more in the second minute to take the score to 3-0. The goal was scored
by Jeremy Morin from a decent strike.
The Dallas Stars struck immediately after the restart with the first play in the same minute. The goal was scored by James Neal. The battle turned intense and 2 minutes later, the Chicago Blackhawks scored once again to regain 3 goals lead to their advantage.
The goal was scored by Troy Brouwer from a spectacular backhand shot.
The pace of the game slowed but the teams started to attack once again as the end of the period approached. The Dallas Stars struck in the 17th minute through Brandon Segal. The score at the time was 4-2. The Dallas Stars scored once again in
the 18th minute to cut the lead to just 1 goal as the period ended with the Hawks leading 4-3.
During the course of the 20 minutes of play, the Chicago Blackhawks made 5 goal attempts while the Dallas Stars made 11 goal attempts.
The final period was not as productive in terms of goals as the 2nd period. The Dallas Stars were the stronger of the two teams but they could not score while the Chicago Blackhawks scored in the 20th minute to seal the match. The goal
was scored by Patrick Sharp from a decent strike as the Chicago Blackhawks won the match 5-3.
