Question:

Conceal Carry Handgun?

Ok, I think I can buy 1 more gun before my wife decides to flip out. I have been researching subcompact pistols. I really want the 9mm Springfield XD but costs just a little too much, which leaves the taurus millennium pro 9mm. Is there any other gun in this price range that you think is decent? Also, I have been checking out revolvers becuase of the reliability BUT they don't seem to have good sights nor have good safety features(safety #1 priority). Can you recommend any good revolvers with what I'm looking for? Bonus Question: are there any guns that shoot .38 sp, .380's and 9mm rounds? Thanks!

  1. Taurus 357 magnum snub nose revolvers also shoot 38 Special for economy and training. Rossi is also fairly inexpensive. Going up in price is Ruger and Smith & Wesson. Ruger did at one time offer the SP-101 in 9mm. It was a short run and fire with moon clips. Pretty cool, one of my officers brought it to the range to get qualified with it.

  2. Get a piggy bank and save up for the XD.  Sure, the cheaper pistol might sound good now - but - 10 years from now when it rattles louder than a tamboreen and you can't find parts....... aint gonna look like much of a deal, is it?

When your wife sees you saving up for the proper pistol - it will reflect a sense of financial responsibility and display a level of knowledge on the subject.  You might swing one a year if you save up and choose wisly.

I would rather have a safe full of high quality firearms, than one full of low quality cheapo's.

  3. a .357 revolver is best.

You won't have much notice if somene attacks you, if you have an automatic you'll have to chamber it and mess with the saftery.

    A revolver you wouldn't.

Plus a .357 revolver is more powerful than any practical automatic.

(a Desert eagle in .44 magnum or .50 AE is not practical)

  4. I would go with the Taurus Millenium Pro I carry the pt-111 every where I go and no one has bothered me about it yet they haven't noticed it it's small enough to conceal easily and accurate enough to trust if you ever need it the 9mm is a decent round but most police have told me and my wife to go with the 40 cal but the 9mm is plenty enough firepower for the regular citizen in my opinion I have never had a problem carrying or shooting mine and I carry it everywhere that I legally can if I have to go into a place that doesn't allow a gun (liquor store hospital bank school ect) I can easily fit it into a glove box and get it back out when I get back to the car and as for revolvers both Taurus and Smith and Wesson make great guns but most of them are too hard to conceal in normal clothing I have a Smith and Wesson 38 Special but I don't carry it because i is not accurate enough to trust over 20 yds

  5. Revolvers are good guns and they are very safe to me, because you can easily check if they are loaded.  Taurus makes some revolvers as well. I don't think there are guns that shoot all those calibers but you can usually shoot .38 specials through a .357 magnum. You might want a .357 snub
