Me and my husband have been trying EVERY night for about 9 months to conceive. Whats wrong with me???

If this info helps... I only get my menstrul every 4 months and it lasts the normal week.

How long before I should see a specialist? Do I see a specialist or doctor or gyno or what?

Please help.

  1. If you only get your period every 4 months i would see a doctor now.  I would check with your gyno first.

  2. with irregular periods it's harder for you and hubby to conceive, it's best to see a doctor, see an obgyn they can prescribe meds to regulate your periods. you can also ask a doctor online for free for advice, try the website FertilityTies

    good luck!!

  3. Not sure what your age is, but if you are under 30  then the average person "should" get pregnant within one year of trying per the Dr I went to. After I tried naturally for one year, I went to my doctor who referred me to a specialist who handles the fertility process (REI) and who could help move us further to get tested. We went through the various steps of the fertility process. It takes time, commitment, and depending onyour benefits, money too, but they payoff in the end is worth it. I would highly encourage you and your partner to go get tested and then make a decision after that to see what your options are. Good luck, and best wishes.

  4. my gyno told me that having s*x every nite wont get you pregnant....try every other day instead.....you have to pay attention to your ovulation weeks or he told me to have s*x days 1-9 starting when you cycle starts...rest then start back on day 14. my hubby and i have been ttc for a yr now and finally i found out 2 weeks ago that i was 4wks. good luck and be patient!!

  5. Since your periods are so irregular you may want to go to your ob/gyn now so they can find out why. They may refer you to a specialist after that or they may be able to help you. You should also try having s*x every other night instead of every night, it gives the sperm more time to build back up.
