What is the concentration in ppm of 0.042 g of CO2 in 120 g of N2 and 30 g of O2, all present in gas?

  1. ppm = mass of component x 1,000,000 / mass solution

    Mass solution = 0.042 + 120 + 30 = 150.042 g

    ppm = 0.042 x 1,000,000 / 150.042 =280
