Question:

Concentration problems, maybe?

Okay, so a lot of times I have trouble concentrating.

Like, when I'm reading a book, I might stop paying attention and just read without knowing what I'm reading. Then at other times I'll have to read pretty slowly, or else I'll miss something.

I'm wondering if this happens to a lot of other people, or if I should be worried.

  1. A problem may be diet. Fatty and sugary foods are popular among teens. Researchers say that while junk foods may taste great, they appear to reduce mental sharpness. Studies likewise indicate that mental performance wanes after a meal of carbohydrates, such as bread, cereal, rice, or pasta. This may be because carbohydrates increase the amount of a chemical called serotonin in the brain and make a person feel drowsy. Some nutritionists thus suggest eating protein-rich foods before any activity that requires mental alertness.

It also helps to set a goal and reward system for yourself. Setting a specific goal—say of finishing a portion of a homework assignment—before turning on the television or your favorite music can motivate you to concentrate. Be sure that the goals you set are reasonable.— Philippians 4:5. says that.
