I have had this weird thing with my belly button for as long as I can remember...my mom says i picked at it(my belly button) when I was younger.

I get "dry skin" in my belly button but it's not dry skin it's an infection of some sort and sometimes it bleeds. I do not make an attempt to "pick" my belly button but when i do get the dry stuff in it I remove it as gentley as possible. I've tried lotion and it doesn't work. I have no idea what it is someone please help!

It also smells really bad sometimes.

  1. clean it with alcohol or peroxide and then put cortisone 10 with aloe on it..... then maake sure u wash with soap and water everyday and apply the cortisone 10 after showers and at night

  2. I think you might do best to have a doctor look at this.  Sometimes an umbilical scar can actually come slightly "undone"- and it will leak fluid.  It may also be dry skin or some sort of irritation- without looking at it, it's really hard to say.  If it is a problem with the belly button itself, it's easily repaired.  Sometimes, the old belly button just blows out- it isn't gross, it just happens.

  3. If it smells it is most likely an infection and you need the correct kind of antibiotic so go to the Dr. Keep your fingers out of it.  Use peroxide or alcohol until you  go to the Dr.

  4. i get this sometimes all that i do is squirt some triple antibiotic cream like neosporian into it and cover it with a band aid so that the medicine stays and in a couple days it is gone

  5. my doctor told me to clean with peroxide on a q-tip and then DO NOT PICK!!!! just leave it alone!! you can cause a worse problem if you pick, even gently!

  6. Put some rubbing alcohol on it with a q-tip.
