Concerning boxing gloves, what does density affect? (12oz, 14oz, 16oz, etc) ?

I'm thinking about purchasing a pair of boxing gloves, but I don't know what the density affects, so if you could tell me, that would be awesome.

  1. The glove sizes you have hear are for working out with not fighting . You can work on the heavy bag with them and spar with them and shadow box but not fight with them because they have to much padding so they would make a fighter slower and his punches would not have the same effect as 8oz. meaning less density.
