I put a rebuild oil pump on my truck and put everything back together I also pour back in the oil that was drain from the oil pan(fresh oil) Then I started up the truck and this whining noise came out.I asks Advance Auto and they said it may be something else such as the backing plate to the transmission. They dont belived it the oil pump because it gets 40lbs.of pressure and no knocking is accurring. I other words the noise is normal but to me the noise is a big problem. Can you help me resloved this problem with my oil pump? Dan

  1. i have never used a rebuilt oil pump ,but any noise from an engine isn't good,i only use new ones,if you got 40 pounds of oil pressure that's good, but an oil pump can make a noise from it even if its pumping good,if you doubt the pump ,change it if you think its causing it,good luck.
