  1. it isn't a good idea to take a kitten from its mother before 9 weeks, but in answer to your question, a 7 week old can certainly be taught to use it.   Make sure it is deep enough to do a little digging and scratching in, but make sure the sides aren't too tall for it to get in and out.

Place the tray somewhere that is easy for the kitten to get to.  You can place him/her in the tray after meals.  It will catch on very quickly.

If it does have an accident (and it might at first) you can take the p**p and place it in the litter.  That usually sends the message.  If you catch it in the act of pooping/peeing on the floor, don't punish or yell or anything but you can calmly and quickly scoop the kitten up and place it in the box to finish.

  2. I think a kitten can start litter box training at any age, as long as they can walk and their eyes are open.

  3. Hi,

Really the kitten should stay with  its mum till it is at LEAST 8wks old, 10/12wks old is better.

    But to answer your question,

Yes it should be able to use a litter tray

  4. yes, just start training! the sooner the better

  5. I got a baby kitten about the same age and you just have to show the kitten the litter box and let it go inside the box.My kitten automatically went into the box so i suppose yours will too. Just keep and eye out for them. You should always make sure your kitten has enough food and water to keep it's hunger and thirst down

You don't want your kitten dehydrated. Take your kitten to the vet if you see any changes in behavior because your kitten may be ill.

                                       Good Luck.
