Concert video?

i just went to bamboozle and all my videos sound terrible and my camera just sucks..its a dxg? ive had it forever and i need to upgrade. can someone give some good cameras and some reviews maybe of camera that will take good pics ( with good zoom ) and one that will take okay sounding videos at a concert? im lookinf for anything under 180$-215$ thanks so much

  1. Sorry to say there is nothing in your budget range that will do what you want.

    The reason the audio is so bad is because your camera's built-in automatic audio gain control cannot deal with REALLY loud audio - it clips and sounds muddy.

    You need to have manual audio gain control. The least expensive camcorders with this are the Canon HV20, HV30, Sony HDR-HC7 and HC9.

    The other option is to get a "field recorder" like those from M-Audio, Zoom, Edirol, Marantz, or Sony (there are many others) and replace the audio from the camera with the audio from the field recorder when you edit on a computer.
