Concrete flooring pricing installation?

I am planning on pulling out carpet in den (12x12) and want to have a polished/acid stained floor installed.

Can anyone give me a general idea of the cost of this project. Below the carpet is wood. I will pull the carpet myself and seal the flooring below due to pet odors.

Concrete flooring over wood is not a good idea unless it is in a basement.

I would remove the carpet and clean the wood several times with a pet urine detergent and put slate tile down.

It runs about $10. a square foot.
