Question:

Condensation like keeps clogging up in the u- trap do I need the trap?

It is a bryant 1 1/2 ton split system model F024 I would like to just run straight so it don't clog up about every month it is used often and I clean & flush the trap out each time "help".Tired of finding wet floor all the time

    The trap is there to ensure that the condensate catch pan drains out the line, and not into the unit. Without the trap, the negative-pressure of the blower fan will keep the water in the catch pan, and it won't drain out.

    Contact an air conditioning service company and ask them to sell you a clear p-trap. It is fitted for 3/4 piping, is transparent and comes with access openings and a brush for cleaning. You should be able to retrofit your current u-trap. Grainger, Johnstone or Hadco supply should have this item.


  2. Pour some bleach in there then occasionally and it won't grow mold and stop up. If you take the trap out you stand a chance of insects invading through the line.
