Question:

Condensed Milk - tubes or cans?

by  |  earlier

A recipe I'm using calls for a large tin of condensed milk (400g, roughly 14 oz). This type is runny and has the consistency of custard. The only type I can find where I live is in a tube, which comes out more like toothpaste.

I'm assuming this tube form is more concentrated so obviously I can't just use 400g.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to solve this? I'm guessing I just need to water down the prodcut I have until it seems similar to what I'm expecting, no?
