  1. da structure for 3,5 -Diethyloctane is :-

                CH3CH2CH2CHCH3CH2CHCH3C2H5

    bye!!! ^___^...*__*...;-))))!!!!!

  2. CH3-CH2-CH(CH2-CH3)-CH2- CH(CH2-CH3)-CH2-CH2-CH2

  3. Start the straight chain n-octane, a saturated hydrocarbon of eight carbon atoms, numbered in sequence as follows:

    CH3CH2CH2CH2CH2CH2CH2CH3

    1.....2.....3....4....5.....6....7.......

Now replace one -H on each of carbons 3 and 5 with a -CH2CH3 group to get:

    CH3CH2CH(CH2CH3)CH2CH(CH2CH3)CH2CH2CH3

(Added later: don't know why the '8' would not print under the last carbon...this site can be weird!)

  4. Yes

  5.            CH3-CH2-CH ( ethyl ) -CH2-CH(ethyl)-CH2-CH2-CH3  the CH3-CH2= ethyl groups are attached to the third from the left carbon and the fifth from the left carbon. The parent is an 8 carbon ( 8=oct) stayrated alkane

    oct-ANE
