Condi signed papers to put missiles in Poland. What do you perceive Russia's reaction will be?

Do you expect a military action, cold war flareup, or outright attack on Poland?

Do you remember the "Cuban Missile Crisis".  the USSR attempted to place missiles in Cuba, 90 miles from the mainland United States.  It very nearly started World War 3.  If the US puts missiles in Poland, it amounts to the same thing the Soviets did 45 years ago.  There is no need nor reason for the US to put missiles in Poland.  Doing so will only bring the world closer yet again to a nuclear Holocaust.

Addendum:  Granted these missiles are supposedly intended to knock down attack missiles from Russia before they can hit the west.  Russia's problem (I would assume) is that this capability then gives the west the opportunity to attack Russia with nuclear missiles and Russian response would be knocked down before they could strike the west in retailiation.  When you're playing with nuclear toys the best way to ensure that nobody gets hurt is to leave things such that EVERYBODY gets hurt if they're used.  Remember MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction)

Does it matter? Once we have our missile shield in place, Russia becomes irrelevant. Besides, our military is up to the task of keeping Russia at bay.

your question would have people assume you know more then the government which clearly you don't,the latest move re these missiles is as follows,

poland has already agreed to the missiles which are not as you claim to shoot down russian missiles but are there as first strike weapon against missiles from iran.

the second point is that has been no signing of any papers to install any missiles in the czech republic but there are,

moves afoot to put the rader for these missiles there.

as for Russia's re-action it is to be expected that Sabre's will be rattled as they will see it and indeed do that this move will threaten the peace and security of europe,in other words,they(russia) have always held the monopoly on missiles in europe and are against any US moves in that area.

Russian reaction would be much the same as ours was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. But the world leaders have nothing to worry about. If a nuclear war breaks out they have safe places to hide while to little people suffer the attacks.

It's a double standard with governments around the world. They feel it's okay to set up missiles in Cuba but if the U.S. does it at there back door, no matter what type of missile, to the Russians it's wrong. The Russians are not going to believe that they are pre-emptive strike missiles at all. They will assume that the U.S. is planting real nuclear warheads there. They are a very paranoid nation. Much like the U.S. Is becoming.
