Condition where someone brings up subjects from past topics

I heard a while ago about a condition where someone will bring up a subject from a topic that they were talking about a while ago or they would randomly say an answer to a question that another person asked them a while ago. I forgot what its called does anyone know?

I am sorry, I am unsure as to what you could be referring to.  Older people with beginning dementia might do such a thing.
