  1. Well there isnt alot to do.

Stretching helps you from not getting seriously hurt but it doesnt help with the soreness.

Your body isnt used to working out like it is now.

    Give it time.

After the first few times you go, you should feel better.

    I am a volleyball player =] {yay go us}

and i am the same way after everything.

We do a little bit of weightlifting at the end of the year but not much. And then during the summer

we condition a whole lot. Im sore the first few days but then i get used to it.

But you just have to give it time and you will be thankful of it! =]

  2. yeah, that happens to me too. Maybe stretch afterwords??

  3. Well I lift weights everyday and I also run a mile and a few suicides (Sprinting drill)

You will be sore...I am right now haha! after a while your body will become more accustomed  to the work outs.

If you get someone to massage your back and if you take hot baths it helps to ease the mussel pain.

    Good Luck and have fun!

  4. you just have to keep playing. everyone is sore the first couple weeks no matter how in shape you are. I play volleyball 2 times a week all summer long and when season hits and we have 2 a days (practice from 9-12 then 1-4) it sucks and Im still sore the next day. We stretch a lot too. Its just that some muscles dont get used or dont work as hard in the summer than other ones.

do some weight training legs and arrms, have a core workout for your abs. do some sprints and agility drills

    good luck

  5. there's not much you can do about the soreness. just get lots of rest the next day. use some ice if it hurts a lot.

to stay in shape, i swim, run, and just play volleyball as much as i can. do some general things, like stretching and running to keep in shape. cardio work is good too because it works on your core.

  6. there is not to much that you can do about soreness.  i find that drinking a lot of water and walking somewhere after practice usually helps. just make sure you keep stretching, like you are now.  i personally would run some and stretch. the best thing you can do is just get out there and play volleyball with someone.

  7. ur body is just starting 2 get used to exercising so it will be sore but once your body is used 2 it you will be ok...... You have 2 keep it up though or else it will start getting sore again....

  8. You can strech everyday and that will help a lot. Also put ice on every sore spot. There isn't much you can do but after a while you will get used to doing it a lot. Also tell your coach if its too much and if your muscles are sore. Everyone of my coachs has to know if your sore because they don't want to work you to hard and then pull a muscle or get hurt some other way and not be able to play in the following games.

  9. There isn't much you can do about the soreness.

I had a similar problem when I was taking 2 volleyball camps at the same time.  I played and conditioned for volleyball from 9am-3pm, then again at 6pm-8pm.

Just ice them, stretch them, and get someone to massage your legs to try and get some of the lactic acid out of your muscles (which causes your legs to become stiff and sore).

Also, before your practice, try to do some jogging to loosen them up.  In my earlier camp, we had to jog outside for 5-10 minutes at the beginning of the day.  It hurt the first few minutes, but after that, my muscles got looser, and were fine until the camp ended.

As for getting and staying in shape...

Make sure you do some cardio, and weight lift!  It increases your muscle mass, so you'll be stronger.

As, do some plyometrics to increase your vertical and hitting power.  My vertical went up 4" over the summer doing it.

    EDIT:

And avoid stairs!  haha, it takes you a while to climb them if your quads are sore.  My bedroom is in the basement :(

  10. um the best thing 2 do is just make sure u stretch before then right when u finish

and at anytime u feel sore just stretch but make sure that u take it easy if ur sore

..im a volleyball prayer and when its not volleyball season i make sure i still get exersise and keep in shape

maybe you could even try another sport..thanks 2 my best friend she got me 2 do track and that was a major help!!
