I want to have a exercise routine for my tennis. I want to play better. I'm already ther top seed in under 14 girls since the previous tournement but I want to become :

-stonger

-faster

-and anything else that qwould help.

I wwould like the routine to be done at home more than at the tennis courts.,

I go in a lesson 3 times a week.

Also I have some free weights to use.

I wouldnt mind building my stamina and helping to become more fit all around. Thanks!

  1. I would join a cardio tennis class at a near by club.  This class is more for building stamina instead of learning the game of tennis.  In the end it will help you last longer through a point, giving you the edge to finish him with a final strong forehand after you've ralleyed with him over 20 times.

  2. Hey!

I am in your same boat, and I am trying to get more fit for tennis too. I talked to my pros, and they said they you need to work on endurance and speed. They said the best thing to do would be to sprint for 15 seconds as fast as you can they rest. Do this as many  times as possible. This works on both endurance and speed. However, that will not be completly effective so here are some things you can do. Try to do speed work 2 times a week, and endurance work 2 times a week. Do strength training 3 days a week.

    Endurance...

Running. Try to run for 30-45 minutes at a times and work up

    Swimming

    Biking

Elliptical-not so hard on your knees

    Speed-

Ladders- go to your  nearest sports authority and buy a ladder. http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/i...

then search for ladder drills on the webhttp://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/lad...

Windsprints- run as hard as you can from one line to another repeat 10 times

Shuffles- shuffles from line to line

Line jumps- jump over a line with your feet togethor

Stepups- take a stair and jump up it as many times as possible in a minute.

For strength, I would suggest you take yoga- it would be great! Just go to the gym and use the equipment- ask your parents to take you. Good luck!
