Conditions favour Bunce in Emprise Services Claiming Stakes, Achalas to bounce back in Bournemouth Handicap at Salisbury
More testing the conditions, the better Bunce’s chance is in the class 5 Emprise Services Claiming Stakes, taking place at Salisbury on Tuesday, June 12th. The 6f212y event will be kicked off at 15:00 (GMT).
Among Bunce’s rivals are: George Benjamin, Indian Art, Kingsdine, Kingswinford and Jessica Ashton. The aforementioned contestants will compete for a handy cash prize worth £2,264.
After a few unlucky outings, Bunce bounced back in great style, sealing a close win at Windsor last week. On slow ground, Paul Fitzsimons’ trainee did a decent job to ensure the top spot by a short head’s distance in the Reading Post Selling Stakes.
Out of others, George Benjamin seems to be most fascinating contestant. The 5-year-old is in winning mood these days. After crushing his opponents at Catterick, the maverick runner continued his good run to clinch an excellent victory at Chepstow earlier
this month.
The 2010 winner, Kingswinford, is another dangerous runner, but the real clash will be between George Benjamin and Bunce. Salisbury’s soft surface is going to suit Bunce and therefore, he can be preferred over the hat-trick seeking, George Benjamin.
The venue is also due to host Castlepoint Shopping Park A3060 Bournemouth Handicap, getting underway at 17:05 (GMT). The class 5 meeting has attracted a number of high status entries including Chatterer, Korngold, Achalas, Battleoftrafalgar, Kings Troop,
Persian Herald, Shesha Bear and Mazij.
A statistical analysis shows that Chatterer is in good form at the moment. The 4-year-old was runner-up in her last two appearances. In her latest trip at Newmarket, Marcus Tregoning’s trainee missed the crown by ¼ a length.
She looks to be the strongest runner, but the soft ground might scupper her chances. So, it is good to support Achalas, who has been improving his work steadily over the past few months.
After finishing sixth at Windsor, the four-year-old did well at Goodwood, but was unlucky to finish fifth in the Gordon's Stakes (Handicap) last week.
Victories are not coming to his way, but with favourable conditions at Salisbury, the Heather Main-trained has an obvious chance of seizing the top rank today. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
