Do you get the same type of cardio workout swimming as you do running?

  1. Not really. Swimming and running are COMPLETELY different. Here's some proof. I'm an all-american swimmer. I go 21.98 in the 50 free at 47.48 in the 100 free. I can't run a single mile straight. Kinda sad, huh?

    Do dry land stuff. Heavy duty jump roping, medicine balls, pull ups, weights. If you can swim anywhere, take that opportunity. I suppose running wouldn't hurt, but you could be using your time for other things.
