Conference pears from the supermarket seem to go from rock hard to fluffy inside ... do you get this problem?

They seem to last longer if you keep them in the fridge.

ive found if when you buy them you leave them for about 5 days sometimes longer i think they freeze them to last longer if i wanna eat a proper banana ive got to wait a week before it actually tastes like a banana all sweet natural of course hope this helps

No. Don't buy them. They go all fluffy inside.

That's the nature of pears.  They don't store well like apples.

When you buy them store them in the fridge or a very cool place to slow down the ripening process, take them out to let them ripen enough to eat - not easy to judge the in-between stage.

I think you have to have your own tree, most Pears are imported and don't keep very well, this is the trouble with the Global Economy!
