Confidence help? please?

im a 15 year old male and a 10th grader. i usually walk with my head down and dont smile. when i look at myself in the mirror sometimes im satisfied with my looks some times im not and dont like what i see. i think im ugly; but my family isnt no where near ugly( not bragging just telling.). i try to walk with my head up and back straight and it very eldomly helps but i feel a little better and i dont really smile but i have dimples and white teeth. im also self consciouss and wonder what people think of me. please help and give me tips on how to build confidence so i can live a better life. i want to be able to look in the mirror and be satisfied with myself.

  1. One person's tips may not match the next.  I think it's really important for you sit down with someone who can help you process your anxiety and self doubt, and take a look at one standards you're valuing yourself by.

    In general, self confidence comes from believing in yourself, and also proving to yourself.  Setting goals and taking steps to achieve them is a good way to raise your self esteem.

    Also, positive encouragement.  Either by looking in a mirror, or making a list of good traits, or even by asking friends for feedback on things they like and cherish about you.

    Mostly, though, you need to know that regardless of what anyone has ever said, you are an amazing person and you deserve to live your life free of doubt, free of self hate, and free of discrimination, hurt, and ridicule.  That won't always happen, though.  So it's good to have friends, family, and personal supports in place to meet the challenges.

    Sometimes working with a net is all the confidence you need.

    Other times, you have to be able to accept yourself, and strive to be who you want to be.


  2. The best way to build self confidence is to get completely rid of self ish ness.  Consentrate on helping others and you will see a great reward.
