Confident Nestor can be a surprise winner in 4th Coral Regency Trial Stakes (Duplicated) at Hove
Blonde Fletch is the most preferred hound in the 4th Coral Regency Trial Stakes (Duplicated) at Hove on Thursday, May 24th. The bookmakers and punters have plenty of reasons to rate him high for the 695 metres Flat race.
The black hound has a fantastic record track under his belt. The 2011 Stayer of the Year is going to attract a lot of punters, as he is coming into this battle after a fantastic victory at Oxford.
In a 645 metres contest last week, M. Wallis’ trainee seized the top rank by 2¾ lengths. Despite getting crowded early on, he managed to cover the distance in 39.66 seconds.
Despite the fact that Blonde Fletch is the most successful hound in the line-up, his chances of winning are not absolute today. Confident Nestor has not been given the best of odds, however, he holds a good chance of locking the top spot.
The black dog is in sublime form these days. He is coming back to Hove after two consecutive wins over 642 metres. In his last appearance at Hove, Never Give Up’s son was mighty impressive.
In a similar contest at the start of this month, N. Carr’s trainee sealed the first position despite being baulked twice in the middle. Although he is facing a lot tougher opposition this time around, his winning momentum cannot be overlooked.
The aforementioned pair is going to face four powerful runners including Portavoe Lass, Honeypound Joe, Balmi Blue and Springwood Bob. The £150 event is scheduled to commence at 20:18 GMT.
Portavoe Lass will also try to come home strongly. The white and black b***h has been unlucky over the past few weeks, as she narrowly missed the gold medal in two of her last three races.
Honeypound Joe is also a recent winner. After a win each at Hove and Romford, the black dog lost his rhythm, when ran at Wimbledon last time around. Springwood Bob is unlikely to provide a bookmaker-friendly result. Balmi Blue’s overall form does not seem
to be impressive.
Conclusion
Honeypound Joe is capable of springing up a surprise, but Confident Nestor has the highest chance of upsetting the 8-15 favourite, Blonde Fletch. Good luck to everyone.
