Confident Ramona shocks Droopys Darryl in ROMFORD STADIUM MAIDENS on Feb 3
Confident Ramona turned it around against Droopys Darryl, winning THE ROMFORD STADIUM MAIDENS on Friday, February 3. The latter was the most favourite hound, carrying the odds of 9 to 4. However, the black dog looked vulnerable against Confident Ramona’s
excellent speed.
There were six participants in the heat, but the real contest was between Confident Ramona, and Droopys Darryl. It was a 400 metre long Grade OR Heat, holding a cash prize of £150. With the starting price of 3 to 1, the black b***h set off the event
from the fifth trap. M. A. Wallis’ trainee led the race all the way through, making it to the winning post in just 24.28 seconds.
The favourite hound could not surpass Black Shaw’s daughter, out of Lethal Frankie, however, he salvaged some respect by capturing the runner-up place. Droopys Darryl, trained by D. Mullins, was bumped at first bend, and thus he was unable to challenge
the champion b***h. The black hound crossed the wire in 24.42 seconds, securing the second position by 2 ¼ lengths.
The third position was secured by Alecs Blue, who was holding the chances of 7 to 1. His early pace guided him to a strong position, and C. A. Grasso's trainee at one stage was in good situation to finish at least second on the table. However, Westmead
Alec’s blue son out of Gouch, failed to seize the opportunity, clocking the area in 24.60 seconds.
Derders Mia did well to ensure fourth slot in the list. However, the b***h could have done a lot better than this, as she fell short by three quarters of a length only. The brindle b***h was carrying the winning probability of 7 to 2, as she stepped
out from the second stall.
Front Stage nabbed second last place, whereas the last position went to Droopys Stig. It was a close contest between the last two, but Front Stage, sent at 6 to 1 managed to beat the 24.86-seconds back marker by a head’s margin.
Confident Ramona looked out of rhythm in her previous two outings. However, she returned strongly this time and beat the race favourite. It was her third victory in five races, she has run so far.
