The two-year-old, Confident Rankin, gets the nod for the 2012 Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 9. The race will be held over 550 yards flat on Thursday, 2nd at the Shelbourne Park. The €250 race has attracted Barefoot Missile, Late
Owl, Tynwald Bolt, Hillcroft Joe and Tyrur Willyjoe.
The 11 to 8 shot for the race today started racing just during the current season and went only through a training session during the previous season. Premier Fantasy’s black son missed the first two chances of the career to strike hat-trick and was successful
in nailing down three wins in a row eventually.

After ending fourth in the race that followed, the two-year-old out of, Swift Rush, got back to the winning routine and struck a back-to-back.
Posting a hat-trick again became impossible as the O McKenna trained ended second in the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby – Heat 3 on 1st March, 2012 at Monmore over 480 metres. He took a slow start, got crowded and then started on from the third spot taking
28.50 seconds to join the winner, Manic Scolari and missed the race due to the gap of 4 ½ lengths.
The two-year-old black hound struck a hat-trick in the ECC Timber Open 550 Semi-Final on 23rd June, 2012 at the Shelbourne Park over 550 yards. Being the fastest to race away got him the race in 29.90 seconds with ¾ of a length’s margin right
under his belt.
The hat-trick that he struck was at the Shelbourne Park itself and the training session there has enhanced his chances for claiming the race tonight. If he retains the form and keeps a check on the competiton then his success in the race is inevitable.
