  1. If they believe that your well being is threatened by what you say, then they are required to report it.  I know that I would mention it to a counselor.

  2. If your parents are abusing you in any way and you tell your teacher about it, he/she am required by law to tell someone--it's called a mandated reporter in NYS.

  3. if the teacher knows anyhitng like that its the law they have to report thats the law like burr-duh! because teachers at my school have tlaked about because if they know somehting like that and a child can be insangere at anytime if they didnt tell they might get charged if anyhting happened and they knew so they have to by law

  4. If there is reason to believe that you are being abused or neglected, they are mandated to report it.  Otherwise, no.

  5. Teachers are required by law to report any knowledge of child abuse...including addicted parents.

  6. i think it depends. you can tell a teacher something in confidence, so they can't tell anyone and then figure out what to do about it. if it's something that is an immediate threat to you, they might have to report it. most likely, he/she would put you in contact with a DCFS person. if your parents are alcoholics or on drugs, you should tell someone sooner rather than later. you can ask to be kept out of it, but something really has to change.good luck!

  7. They would probably ENCOURAGE YOU to report it.  The only way I truly think that they would intervene is if u showed up at school with bruises all over u or seem to be a victim of abuse.

I'm sorry u have to go thru this.  There are a lot of support groups out there for people who are suffering like u... Try Al-Anon.
