  2. The American Revolution and the War of 1812 are the only conflicts between the British and the US.

American Revolution: King George XIII was basically using the American Colonies to fuel the British economy, but the American Colonies were basically left to dry with virtual representation. Eventually, higher taxes are imposed, tariffs are put on tea (Boston Tea Party), and eventually conflict breaks out between the Colonies and the Crown. Some Colonies remain loyal to the Crown (Loyalists), but Britain would ultimately spend more money trying to take back the colonies than would be profitable. So after the British "give up", the Colonies form the Union under the Constitution.

War of 1812: American merchant ships were being seized by the Crown, and their sailors were forced to work for Britain. This pisses of America. America feels it has to stand up for itself or it won't be taken seriously. Britain still has it's honor tarnished from the Revolutionary War, so the US and the British go at it again. The Crown gets beat down. US gets cocky, we think we're the $#!%.

    The End.
