  1. Respectfulness

    Listening

    The ability to paraphrase and reassure your understanding of the issues.

    The ability to interject, but not interrupt.

    The ability to control the conversation with reassuring body language.

    Positive Positioning

    The ability to ask for commitment to adhere to the resolution from both sides.

  2. Listening. I took an interpersonal communication class in college, and we talked about listening skills a lot there. In communication its really important to listen and not just talk. Also take not of none verbal signs.

    Willing to compromise.

    No name-calling.
