crossing to the left side of the road while doing the 3 point turn. I put on right signal and pulled to right side of road. Checked for traffic, then put on left signal and pulled to the left side of road/curb until I was facing the left curb, checked traffic again and then turned my wheel as far right as I could, checked for traffic, looked in my back window and backed up to the right curb, then turned the wheel again and pulled away from the curb.

After I did this the examiner says to me, "who the h**l showed you how to drive? You don't even need to cross to the left side of the road at all." He wouldn't let me try again, or show me what he meant. He failed me for this. Aren't you SUPPOSED to cross the road during a 3 point turn, if not, how the heck else do you do it?

  1. It sounds like you did it correctly. Here is a link to a 3 point turn tutorial for passing the driver's test. Looks and sounds just like you described. http://www.driving-test-success.com/turn...
