Confused about DVDs and bluray?

I'm a little behind, but is blueray going to completely replace DVDs?

  1. Blu-Ray will eventually replace DVDs because it has a more secure Digital Rights Management (DRM) system than DVDs have making it a the primary form of media for the movie industry.

    DVD will still be around for a few more years but they are becoming an out-dated technology for video media.

    Just like Audio CDs made cassettes out-dated doesn't mean that they will stop making them. They will just become harder to find and more expensive since Blu-Ray will be the new video media platform.


  2. Not exactly....

    Blu Ray is the next generation of dvds, producting High Definition picture and sound.  

    But ever since blu ray came out, standard dvds have been selling great aswell... not everyone is into HD. So it should be awhile.

    Definately not like the jump from VHS to DVD.
