Confused about applying eyeliner?

I have been trying to figure out how to apply eyeliner right. Once I put it on and it was on top of my upper lashes (directly on the lashline) and on the skin on my bottom lashes (under the lashline)... While my friends put it on the lashline (on the top lashes) and on the inner rim of the bottom of the eye. What is right and if none of these how DO you put it on?

When you apply eyeliner make sure its not alot&&make sure it blends in with your lashes&&it doesn't smidge.

both are right. i do it like your friend but use liquid on the top.

either is fine. but if you do it the way your friends are, it makes your eyes look smaller. but the way you do makes your eyes look bigger.

you can do it however you want really! its very versatile: )

either is right really, just make sure you blend it in well if it's quite a lot under your lashline.

i put it on the inner rim of my bottom lid, but a good place to put it is just below your bottom lashes, so that its as close to your eye as possible without getting in your eye.
